2kg Co2 (Carbon Dioxide) Extinguisher manufactured to BS EN 3

With a BSI (British Standards) fire rating of 34B

NOW FITTED WITH A PROTECTED HORN TO PREVENT FREEZING HANDS

Co2 (Carbon Dioxide) extinguishers are ideal for electrical fires. Co2 works by driving the oxygen from the fire site causing the fire to suffocate.
Operators must be aware that the velocity the extinguishing media leaves the extinguisher causes freezing of the dispensing horn and surrounding area, care must be taken as improper use such as holding the horn during use may result in frostbite. Use on sensitive electronic equipment may cause damage to some components or circuitry by the freezing temperature; however, the risk is small compared to the damage caused by an uncontrolled fire. Co2 can also be used on contained Class 'B' (liquid) fires, it works very well
Not suitable for Class 'A' (solid materials) fires, due to the great velocity the extinguishing media is discharged it can cause burning material to scatter over a larger area and start other fire outbreaks,
It is important anyone likely to use an extinguisher is properly trained in it's safe use.
